Window size is only one part of the check
Have the usable clear opening, opening operation, interior access and relationship to the floor checked for the proposed installation. Product dimensions and the opening available when the sash is fully open are not interchangeable measurements.
Include the exterior well and cover
If the window opens into a well, include the well’s usable space, access arrangement and any cover in the review. The completed assembly matters; do not approve each component in isolation.
Room use affects the project
Tell Building Services whether the project involves a sleeping room, another finished room or replacement of an existing assembly. Do not rely on a window replacement alone to establish a legal bedroom or approve a change in use.
